UnchargeMe Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 9, 2026

UnchargeMe is designed to help you track recurring charges and upcoming payments. Basic tracking can run locally on your device, and some account-backed features use our servers when you choose to sign in or use paid features.

What information UnchargeMe collects

Basic subscription tracking does not require an account. In that mode, the subscription and reminder information you enter, such as merchant name, amount, billing frequency, next charge date, and reminder settings, is stored on your device.

If you create an account, we store account information such as your email address, password hash, name, timezone, and locale. If you use Pro or other account-backed features, we may also store notification preferences, device push-token registrations, entitlement state, and server-processed subscription data needed to provide those features.

The current public mobile release does not require bank or email account connections for normal use.

How your data is stored

Local subscription lists and reminder schedules can be stored on your device. When you sign in, UnchargeMe also stores account-backed data on our backend, including entitlement records, notification settings, notification-device registrations, and server-side records needed for paid features such as risk signals, savings history, or connected-data workflows if they are enabled for your account.

Notifications

If you choose to enable reminders, UnchargeMe will request permission to send notifications. Local reminders are used to alert you about upcoming charges. If you sign in and enable account-backed notifications, we may store a push token and notification preferences so we can send supported alerts. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.

Biometric / device authentication

If you enable app lock, UnchargeMe can use your device built-in authentication (such as Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint) to unlock the app. UnchargeMe does not collect, store, or have access to your biometric data. Biometric matching is handled by your device operating system.

Purchases and third-party services

If you purchase a subscription through Apple App Store or Google Play, those platforms process your payment information. UnchargeMe may receive purchase or receipt metadata needed to validate entitlement status, but we do not receive your full payment card details from Apple or Google.

We may use service providers for hosting, database storage, purchase validation, and notification delivery. UnchargeMe does not include third-party advertising SDKs, and we do not sell your data.

Sharing and exports

If you use any share/export features, the content you share is sent only to the destination you choose (for example, your email app). UnchargeMe does not receive a copy of what you share.

Account deletion

If you have an account, you can delete it in the app from Settings > Delete Account. You can also review deletion instructions at /delete-account.

Children's privacy

UnchargeMe is not intended for children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. If we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above.
